Why I wrote the book The Dirty Truth

I spoke with many Players, Player's girlfriends, Fans and Puck Bunnies, across North American. I have changed most names in the book with exception in some parts where names of teams or players can be mentioned.

The main reason I wrote this book is because I saw how common the hazing and group sex had become. I am fully aware that it is happening everywhere however, I focused on hockey. Over the last few years I have gathered many stories but narrowed it down to a few from each of the following, Players, Player's girlfriends, Fans and Puck Bunnies. Many stories were so similar that I focused on a few for each. I wanted to balance the book from all angles. I wanted the readers to see all points of view. I also was given some strange fan/stalker letters from a few players which I also included in the book. I thought it would be interesting for readers to see some of the letters they receive.

I understand that my book may cause a lot of controversy but then again sex is a big topic. My book is about educating people not about trying to ruin reputations.

I think everyone has their own personality and morals and everyone is different. I don't believe all players cheat as some emails to me have stated. I am not out to destroy people. Because I have spoken to people all over Canada and the United States, please don't assume that your boyfriend/son/husband, is in the book. Some girls have assumed. As i stated many stories were similar so even though a story might hit home with you, it could have taken place on the other side of the country.

Some of the book is very difficult to read, hard to swallow, however, I feel that it is worth the read. I wrote the book because it's a subject close to my heart.
